Sploosh!
Wow.
I feel a little bad, but i have NEVER had so much fun NOT throwing water balloons.
For this evenings amusement i filled my back pack with water balloons(that had "Toss me" written on them) and walked around campus witha pad of paper.
The plan was to tell people i was doing a survey for a psychology class.
The question was simple: If you found a water balloon would you toss it at some one?
I gave out balloons to my "survey" participants. 100% of people given a water balloon through it.
Turns out that balloons are more likely to be tossed by guys who are outside and in groups of 3 or more.
Only 5 People out of 39 said they wouldn't toss it.

Where is the...
Ho Hum. First day of classes. Time to put my nose back on the grinding wheal and scrape all the cobwebs ( and icecream for that matter) out of my noggin. A bright nwe semester is appon us.

To start off my semester im in a new room with a new set of sweet mates! I moved my residence from my my campus' most oldest and confusingist building to an even more convoluted backward wing of the same building. Fun. I do like my new location better, but its taking some time to adjust.

My room mate has'nt changed that much since i knew himm in third + forth grade. Interesting kid. Though he still laughs when some one sais "duty" i think we should get along just fine (I hope)

On a greener note' I believe Leah's anti-tray in the school cafeteria is catching on. We no longer have trays in our cafeteria. Hehe its funny to watch people trying to juggle their plates and drinks only to reilise that... Gasp!... they might have to take multiple trips!

Speaking of funny, its fall and my campus is swarming with freshmen! Bumbling around in the wrong buildings, confused with their swipe cards and locking themselves out of their dorms. I'v already had to point a few lost souls in the right direction in my building.

A slate wiped clean
Another week has come and gone. Its white outside from the nightly quarter inch dustings Alfred has been getting. It’s also quite cold out, but that’s due to a rater different phenomena.

Two solitary strings of text; two lines of code standing there mocking my desire to post an entry but not have to write it.

w/e The day I can think words to my screen will indeed be a scary one. The penultimate level of laziness will be obtained.

Ok, um … in other news…
I’m building an autonomous robot for my embedded controllers class. It will follow the left hand wall and avoid stuff put in its path. And by will I mean that it’s not done yet. The hardware is done, but the software isn’t. Not exactly earth shattering, but it’s a cool little robot none the less.

In other other news, I was board. Yep it happened. See in physics this past 2 weeks I’m learning a dumb down version of basic circuits. Stuff like resistance in series and parallel, resistivity of wire and Ohm’s law. It’s all stuff I have been using daily these past 3 semesters. I would have fallen asleep completely if I hadn’t been aroused from my stupor by the funniest explanation of joule heat ever (why electric stuff gets hot when you use it).

1,2and [thock!] uff... 3 ow! and 4
Eureka! I believe i have come up witha spin off of 4 leaf clover! (um... no pun intended)
it took much trials and tribulations, flying books and chairs, and finally a trip outside, but it was worth it.
It starts with a foreword butterfly --> hip turn/mexican wave --> butterfly over the shoulder --> down to butterfly and repeat.
and if you made any sense of that, you deserve a mettle of mental/spacial exuberance.

I think "thock" about describes a poi head collision with a calf/arm/head/table/heel/small of back/neck/floor/bead post quite well.

Just what is Poi?
Poi
By Me

Poi
Some things bring it forth
The smell of kero
Noonday Sun
and the warm breezes of spring

Poi
Fire, warmth,
Orange and yellow
the world turned down
by the flames mighty roar

Poi
Spirals, circles and loops
Rhythms, melodies and beats
Twisting, turning, jumping and spinning

Poi
Flow, grace and glinting chain
From front to back
From forward to reverse
From the weavings of butterflies

Poi is sight and sound and heavy
Poi is smell and taste and burning heads
Poi is magic
Poi is grand

Ok so you kinda have to spin fire to appreciate this poem.
just made it up.
started at 4am
I kinda like it

Grey Sharp Steel
I sit here in the last few hours of my teen years, and I ponder what that means. Everyday I am one day older then the last. Time stretches out behind me as a long string of days. At the end of each one I’m just a day older. But here I sit. I don’t feel much older than last week. I feel eons older then when I was 14, when I was 10, when I was 7. I find that after a birthday I feel just about as old as I did the day before. But where is the cut off point? How many days does it take to make you feel older? ‘tis a bit of a quandary.

So in other news
I love my Literature teacher.
I have to do a report in literature class on Abstract Diction. Unlike most things in an English class this is a oral presentation. And I don’t do much talking.
So here’s the rundown:
1) I introduce my self. Then define Abstract Diction.
2) I play a song that is dripping with Abstract Diction.
3) I say some gibberish about where the Abstract Diction was in the song.

It takes 5 minutes and is about 8% of my grade. I just have one snag. I don’t have any idea what I can use for a song. Its soo open-ended, but I just can’t come up with one. Well it’s not due till late April, but I should proly at least find a song. Any ideas?
If only I had gotten the term “Metaphor”. ‘twould have been easy.

Sad Tidings
I have only one sad announcement. My circuit theory lab professor is a bit of a blit. He insists on giving these really hard labs that are due on Monday. We don’t get them to work on till Thursday. Due to this and my math test I will not be able to come to Winter Camping thins year. I will miss the enchanted wood of Allegany.
To those who are going, I give my best wishes that this Winter Camping be like none other!

Findings
I have made this awesome finding. Starting my home work at 12:15am is a bad idea. Last night i proved mathematically that 5 / 5 = -.26 That was at 2:15, and i figured it was time to hit the sack. And here i am at it again. only this time I'm starting at 2:15. bah
this morning my roommate said that i was talking in my sleep. I wonder if they are connected...
So ima gona wrap up this habit and stuff it under a box under my bed. Homework First.

Hmmm...
Well i just relised that i made all of 5 postings during last semester and only one over break...
*Bad Jason*
hmmmm well i guess it's time to remedy that.
Ok well last semester i started hanging out with some guys. Logan, Nick and Jim. We all had the same classes and we were cool to work with. Any how, we liked to play pranks and such on each other. ahh what fun! for the last 4 weeks of school the 4 of us were working on a final lab project in Electronics fabrication. we were working on a variable output wave generator, witch we had dubbed our "banana box". It was so named because it was a 2 inch by 2 inch by 2 inch cube.
That was panted yellow.
anywho
it was late in the afternoon and everyone was waiting for me to finish soldering up the last IC board. Jim, nick and logan went for drinks offering to bring me something.
What i had failed to relised was that nick haden't finished off his tube of supperglue. (this from the guy that glued Jim's mouse to the table)
so i get my Sobe. twist off the lid that was strangely stuck and took a swig.
i can honestly say that i thought that flaver was a bit off. about 5 seconds later i relised just what had happend. the hand that i removed the cap with was stuck to the desk and the best part is when i went to say something i found my lips glued shut!
We all got a laugh out of that. i had to cut my lips apart with a razer blade !-() no joke.

Ok peace
gota get to class

Snow balls
well i gota say, this semester is shaping out to be quite heavy. i even dropped my WoW subscription to have enough time. I'm not sure how long that will last, but in the meen time i can get some work done.
i only have 2 hard classes. Circuit Theory an physics. that isn't so bad, but when you add the 4 easy classes the time really builds up. between trig and literature and psychology and physical fitness is quite a lot of time.
On the up side i have really good professors. also i am learning and having fun in all of my classes.
*grins*
yesterday i got the itch to do something. So i ran out side with just a t-shirt (and pants) and gloves. within 28 minutes i had 4 snowmen lining the walkway to the entrance of my dorm. since i had nothing for eyes or noeses, i killed all my men for the greater good of making a snow arch over the sidewalk. Well... lets just say that i failed. it went smooth, however its kinda hard to place a keystone as well as lower the side walls with only 2 hands. /sigh
it wasint all for naught. i did make a huge mess and a great heep of snow right in the way.
all things considered i think it was a great use of my time

Tuesdays are the bane of my existence. I have to be at school at 8:00 in the morning. That means that I have to gat out of bed in 5-and-a-half hours.
Digital logic lab is my only class that happens at 8:00AM, but it is a three hour lab witch I can look forward to. Ahh well such is life. At least next semester I will have no class before 9:00AM. (Nock on wood)

I’m hitting the sack

life in the now
OK I have homework to hand in and a quiz tomorrow so I gots to make this quick. Contrary to popular belief, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I started to play World of Warcraft and between that, driving to school and homework I have no life. Well I guess that’s not entirely true. I have met some cool peoples I can hang with and a network of ppl I can do homework with. In fact I’m a tutor in one class. (I tutor between 5 and 6 Mondays and Wednesdays) I have packed more knowledge in to my brain in the past 12 weeks than I ever thought possible! I just love learning.

I took up a bit of a hobby. It’s called capping. The basic idea is to flick bottle caps really fast. Umm yeah, it’s much cooler if you can see it done. A good “cap” goes fast enough to shatter itself when thrown at a wall from 7 feet. I can’t do that yet, but I’m working on it.

OK now I really have to go for real this time. I think I will try to integrate myself with humanity again. Perhaps wow a bit less…

second week of class
You have reached the end of week 2 please turn over the cassette now.

Well it has been a long one, but the weekend has arrived. I will now sit here as I contemplate exactly how much home work I can get accomplished with out me head exploding or my brain turning to jello...

Ok enough gory details. I really am enjoying the material. And I am learning quite mor the I ever thought possible in such a short amount of time!

My classes are as follows:

Freshman composition – Basically self explanatory. I write papers and read grammar and essay books.

Collage algebra – I think this also is pretty self explanatory.

Intro to Computer Hardware and Trouble Shooting – The main objective in this class is to get an A+ certification. That means that in this class I learn about computers; their hardware, software, operating systems and how to network them. This class (and lab) are fun and by the sounds of quite useful.

Seminar – This class is designed to help electrical & electro-mechanical engineers (like me) out. In this class we learn how to be a successful person that deals with electricity. (Yeah I still don’t know exactly what that is saposta mean ether...)

Electronic Fabrication - By far my favorite class. We get to do fun things like build circuits on bread boards and play with digital components thru the use of multi sim. The professor (Mr. Fransman) is really a stickler about home work and labs. If you are so much as 1 minute late to lecture you and your home work are late. Late homework dose not get handed in you get a zero.

Digital Logic – This class is really hard. In terms of home work it has been the easiest so far, but in order to under stand the material I have to read the chapter before it is cover in class. I have 75 pages to read out of this book (the thing ways 20 LBS!) just this weekend. In spite of the difficulty I am enjoying the material.

So that’s my class schedule. A full 16 credit hours and 21 actual hours in class.

Bah. I was hanging out with this kid today in his dorm, and my computer got all screwy. The wireless in all of the class building works different than the wireless in the dorms. I needed to sign on to a campus account thing an then it still wouldn’t let me join the net work! It bugs me cauls it appears to have followed me out of the dorm. I now have limited access to the internet that includes the entirety of the internet except my Live journal. How weird is that?

I gots to do some writhing of a different sort. I have 10 half page journal entries due next Friday. They need to be hand written, legible and I have only 1 done.

Time to sharpen my good old-fashioned writing implement.

Brickage
As I sit here digging my way threw my home work, I occasionally sniff. The remnants of my gripping cold are finally starting to fade, and I am quite glad to see it go. The first week of class would surly have been hell had it not been for our resident herbalist in training.
Thankfully Kaitlin knows a tea that will help just about any thing (though most taste kinda bad)

I love my classes! I get to do stuff like playing around with resisters and ICs and diodes and LEDs and capacitors and switches and volt meters and transistors and all kinds of other good stuff!

I have yet to fix my car door. It won’t close so I have been driving around for the past 2 weeks with the door duck taped shut. The draw back to that it I can’t have any one in the passenger seat, and I cant roll up the window. (in the rain we have been having lately makes that fairly interesting) In other word I have been so busy I haven’t had time to get the car to a shop in 2 weeks! Its been inconvenient like a brick. Another car trouble I had last week was a slight ding I put on the car. Ok less slight and more like big dent. I side swiped a concrete pole at 35 MPH. It really wasn’t entirely my fault. But I wont go in to it here.

Any way I got to go eat so,
I will up date latter

I got my contact ball yesterday! I basically haven’t put the thing down. This is definitely going to be my practice ball. During the first hour I had the thing in my position I managed to get 7 scratches and some paint on it before the hour was out. Oh it’s a red tinted polly ball.

Poi
I just got in from my second Poi show in 3 days. The first one was on Wednesday and tonight was the second. I did the same thing for both events just to make it simple for me.
The show on Wednesday was for a pony club camp. It went off almost without a hitch. For song #3 I was going to do regular poi to Noonday Sun (Deep Forest), but I picked up my green poi, which were for my last song. I eventually got it straitened out but my finally of green flame was a bit early.
Tonight’s show was for a birthday/forth of July event. I got my routine off much better and had only 1 problem(when I was switching to fire poi gear the electricity went out).

Now I shall hit the sack for I am quite ready for bed
